Rescue 1 Responds to Entrapment
November 18, 2010

On Thursday, November 18th, Rescue 1 responded to an entrapment behind the old Jaycee Hut on Buchanan Street. Rescue 112 and Medic 148 responded from base, while Rescue 110 responded from driving training at the airport. Upon arrival, a recreation department employee was found trapped. Apparently, as he was operating the mower, it fell into a sink hole, trapping his waist between the mower and the ground. Rescue 1 personnel used the side portable winch on Rescue 110 to lift and pull the mower off the worker. Once free, the worker was transported by Robeson County EMS. Rescue 1 was assisted by City Engine 3, Robeson County EMS and the Lumberton Police Department.
